Cowlick will be Closed as of July 13, 2022

It truly saddens me to inform you that Cowlick will be closing on July 13, 2022

I took a leap in opening Cowlick three years ago. I had little knowledge about opening a new business (though Small Business for Dummies helped!). What I did have was years of haircutting experience, an encouraging clientele, and an idea. So I ran with it. And I’m glad I did.

I’ve personally had the pleasure of getting to know over 1,000 people in my chair at Cowlick. And during the past three years, over 15,000 fresh haircuts have walked out of Cowlick’s door and into the world.

As our clients, you’ve shared with us your first dates, marriages, new babies, promotions, coming outs, and all the other life events worth getting a haircut for. We’ve discussed music, politics, travel—and of course the Covid-19 pandemic. None of us could have predicted that in March 2020, only months after Cowlick’s opening, our city would be faced with a major global pandemic. Together, we’ve navigated a new world of shutdowns, masks, and endless hand sanitizer.

Unfortunately, I am now faced with the difficult decision of closing the business. While Cowlick has steadily grown and I will always love cutting hair, it’s become clear that my operating a business isn’t the best path forward at this time.

I hope that Cowlick has, all in all, made a positive impact on your life. Cowlick’s focus has always been on the small but important way that a haircut can make you feel, well, more you.

Thank you so much for your support over the years, and I encourage you to follow your barber wherever they end up next.

All my best,

Vivian Strosberg
